Macronutrients

Here is a list of the proteins, carbohydrates, fats and fibre that conveniently make up the term macronutrients and which normally figure in food manufacturers product labelling. In the Foodcounts Food Diary system of nutrition monitoring their approximate energy values are expressed as CALORIES per 100g and the simplified labels are as follows:

 PROTEINS:
 400 cals
 CARBOHYDRATES:
 400 cals
 FATS:
 900 cals
 FIBRE:
 nil cals
 amino acids  starches   saturated  cellulose
   sucrose  unsaturated  pectin
   fructose  monounsaturated  gum
   glucose  polyunsaturated

Salt is often shown as food-labelling macronutrient: under the foodcounts food diary system
salt is presented separately as a value of the mineral Sodium.
