		Based
on a theory that eliminating carbohydrates, especially bread,
cereals, pasta, potatoes and fruit will promote weight loss. All
proteins, including meat, fish, eggs and dairy products are allowed,
        regardless of fat content. A
daily cupful of green-only vegetables is permitted. The programme also
recommends the monitoring of kytosis (blood sugar levels) by daily urine
tests as a means of regulating carb intake. This type of high protein
diet is now a proven and popular way to achieve rapid weight loss
although most nutrition experts are concerned over the long term effect. |
